We broke the cardinal rule of workplace etiquette: never date a coworker. Especially one you sit across from, in an office without cubicles, where everyone sits at desks arranged family style, face to face.

We broke this rule, and it turned out to be the best decision of our lives.

Our first date ended with a long walk down a soft, moonlit beach in Naples, Florida. At first we were just two friends chatting quietly side by side, our clothes blowing in the wind. Slowly, we were drawn closer, our hands brushing, then coming together in a squeeze, hanging there warmly as we walked... We've shared many moments together in the years since that night, but it will always stand out as one of the most memorable. We've made the trip back every year to head out to the beach at dusk, after everyone else has gone in, when it feels like our own private escape. This is where we remember our story. The crash of the surf and the gritty sand under our bare feet as we walk hand in hand feels like home.

Every couple has a love story. The way she coyly smiled at him when their eyes locked. How they laughed and talked all night until their voices were raw...
